My cameras saved my life.
Ok, that's a bit dramatic. But as far as I can remember in my adult life, I've always had a camera in hand. From B&W film in school to relearning the language of digital to fine-tuning my editing skills in the modern world of digital media - I've always had my hands and fingers gripped around a camera.
It started so innocently with an infatuation for capturing cool visual moments in real-time. Learning the rule of thirds, negative & positive spaces, focal distance calculations to get the decent shutter speed while fiddling with aperture to get crisp photos really appeased my logical mind while staying creative.
However, the more I photographed, the more I realized that I wanted to capture and exude emotions. These moments hold memories and all the emotions in that moment in time. Photos (and videos) become time machines anyone can look back on and be taken back to. As a kid that has been through a lot, I cherish moments that nurture my little heart; I want to do that for others - even if only for a tiny blip in time.
As I continue to master the craft, I realize my camera serves more than as a time machine. It's created and opened doors for me that have allowed me to meet new people, connect & collaborate with others, and simply start conversations creating its own micro memory. It also challenges me every single time I pick it up. It forces me to see the world in different ways through different viewpoints. It's taught me how to use my emotions, and not just my eyes, to see.
I want my photographs to be more than just visual satisfaction; I want it to be everything you can see and feel.
I've started offering event photography now that I'm a bit more established in LA. I do this out of pure joy and hope I can produce many time machines for others.
If you see me out with my camera, say hi, pull me over and get in front of my lens (if you're comfortable).
I want to help remind you that you, and these moments, are absolutely beautiful.
